RETREATS AT SUOI TU
AWAKENED MONASTERY
Retreats at Suoi Tu Meditation Center are opportunities to pause, return inward, and reconnect with the awakened nature already within each person.
Under the guidance of Awakened One Thich Thong Hoi and Awakened One Thich Dieu Thien, each retreat supports participants according to their own capacity and stage of practice — from beginners learning meditation, to youth seeking healing, to core students deepening their vow, and monastics walking the complete path of liberation.
Through meditation, Dharma sharing, mindful work, chanting, community living, and direct guidance, participants are invited to understand the roots of suffering, awaken their inner potential, and continue walking the path toward complete liberation from birth, death, and suffering.

CORE STUDENT RETREATS

The retreats offer a deeper environment for practitioners to strengthen their vow, recognize the subtle patterns of ego, and continue returning to the Awakened Source. Through direct guidance from the Awakened Ones, core students are invited to look honestly into the places where the mind still clings, struggles, resists, or seeks a place to rest.
The path of practice is like a stream returning to its source. Even when stones, roots, or obstacles appear, the water does not stop. It continues to flow. In the same way, difficulties on the path are not meant to block us, but to help us see more clearly, break through more deeply, and continue returning to the Source of Awakening.
During the retreats, each moment becomes part of the practice: sitting meditation, walking meditation, Dharma dialogue, mindful work, community living, and contemplation in nature. What may appear as ordinary activity becomes a living Dharma teaching, helping students recognize attachment, dissolve ignorance, and deepen their connection with the Unborn Mind.
The Core Students Retreat is not only about learning more. It is about letting go more deeply. It is about not stopping at any experience, achievement, realization, or inner state. When there is no longer a place for the ego to stand, the path of liberation begins to open more clearly.

INTERNATIONAL RETREATS

For people from all backgrounds seeking meditation, healing, and awakening
The International Retreat welcomes participants from all cultures, languages, and spiritual backgrounds who are sincerely seeking the Awakened Destination, clarity, true compassion, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
Some people come because they are looking for meditation. Some come because they are carrying pain, confusion, or unanswered questions. Some come with a quiet feeling that there must be something more meaningful than the ordinary cycle of stress, success, loss, and searching.
In this retreat, participants are guided to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with the truth within themselves. Through meditation, Dharma sharing, mindful eating, walking meditation, chanting, and community practice, participants have the opportunity to understand suffering at its root and discover a path of transformation beyond belief, culture, or language.
The International Retreats create a gentle and welcoming space for people to experience the Awakened Path directly, not as an idea, but as a living way of returning to clarity, compassion, and inner freedom.

YOUTH AND TEEN RETREATS

For young people seeking healing, direction, and self-understanding
The Youth & Teen Retreat is created for young people growing up in a world filled with pressure, comparison, loneliness, emotional confusion, and many silent struggles that are not always easy to express.
At Suoi Tu, youth and teens are given a safe and compassionate space to open their hearts, understand their emotions, share their stories, and realize that they are not alone. Through the guidance of the Awakened Ones and the support of the monastic community, participants learn how to understand themselves, reconnect with their families, and discover a clearer direction in life.
This retreat may include sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindful activities, group sharing, creative reflection, healing conversations, and community practice. Each activity is designed to help young people return to kindness, confidence, gratitude, emotional balance, and the goodness already within them.
The purpose of this retreat is not to force young people to become someone else. It is to help them come home to themselves with more clarity, courage, and love.
